Artist's Comments

Digital painting of Epidexipteryx hui, the smallest known adult dinosaur specimen, and one of the first feathered birds. From the Mid or Late Jurassic of China, Epidexipteryx was 25cm long not including the ETFs (elongated tail feathers) that give it its name, which means "display feather."

If you look closely you can find a hatchling Epidendrosaurus, another member of the family scansoriopterygidae.

Thanks! Yeah combination of a long weekend due to a sickie and laying around on the couch for a few days apparently leads to more paintings. ;)

Thanks! While I do think scansors look like the best candidates for mobile (if not reversed) halluces, I figured I'd play it save for a change and just not show the feet at all ;)
