Artist's Comments

An updated version of my Unenlagia, now re-purposed as Buitreraptor since that's what it was entirely based on anyway.

Resisted the urge the throw a writhing, two-legged Najash snake in its heron-like jaws...

I imagined this was a Buitreraptor...

No es demasiado ave?? me recuerda a una codorniz =D

Can a bird be too bird-like? Nah ;)

Unenlagiines were probably secondarily flightless anyway, given all their otherwise inexplicable adaptations for flapping and the fact that they must have t]either flown/island hopped to South America or drifted on logs...
:iconferahgo-the-assassin:
I like how you made it heron-like without actually copying the color scheme of any existing herons... a trap I've seen too many paleoartists fall into.
:icondeinowilly:
But Unenlagiines were dromaesaurs , isn´t true?¿? They were not truly birds
:iconmattmart:
Depends on what you mean by "bird." If you mean animals with feathers and wings that can fly or glide, then it's possible dromaeosaurs were true birds. If you mean members of the clade Aves, then they were not, and neither were Archaeopteryx or Ichthyornis!

Now just put your scansoriopterygids down in the same environment and we can be friends ;)

Great and amazing work!
