Since I haven't uploaded anything in a while, here's a sample of the stuff I've been working on lately... Aviremigians from the Ukhaa Tolgod locality of the Djadochta Formation. This locality is probably contemporaneous with the less well known Zos Wash or Zos Canyon member, which was home to two additional but unnamed and only partially described species of dromaeosaur and troodont.

UPDATE: I missed one! There's a specimen of Gobipteryx from Ukhaa Tolgod as well. It's now been added, second from right.

Since it's been guessed in the comments, the species are (left to right) Citipati osmolskae, Byronosaurus jaffei, Khaan mckennai, Tsaagan mangas, Gobipteryx minuta, Apsaravis ukhaana

Not forgotten, just left out due to the fact that it wasn't considered an aviremigian when I drew this... of course, with the discovery last year that Ornithomimimus had remiges, I'd have to include it now!

Very cool. It sort of looks like they are in line for something - you should add a concession stand or something to provide motivation ;)

Hello Matt. Many compliments for your theropods drawings, they are so beautiful and accurate!

i'm doing a drawing with Archaeopteryx. I've read on a blog page that this dinosaur have "four wings", more precisely feathers on the legs like Microraptor gui. What you think about that?
I've found this picture of Xiagiontia, an Archaeopteryx relative: [link]

Legs feathers of Archaeopteryx are like this Xiagiontia?

My understanding is that these are not really like the 'leg wings' of Microraptor. They are more like 'feather trousers' as seen on modern birds of prey, like in this image: [link]

That is, the feathers are fairly long but they do not form a flat plane like a real wing. There are no feathers on the metatarsaus, to my knowledge, which is another feature of true leg wings.

Hope this helps!

Great job; for some reason the Byronosaurus reminds me of a hooded merganser. xD

But that ruins the Five Bird Band! XD Maybe Gobipteryx could be Sixth Ranger?
