Drawing of Velociraptor (based on a skeletal by Scott Hartman, done primarily for the Wikipedia article: [link]

I also did the size comparison chart featured there.

Updated 2009-Mar-26, to fix a few inaccuracies, clean up the scan and add colour. Skull shape modified to closely follow the Fighting Dinosaurs specimen, large flight feathers added to wing, based on discovery of quill knobs in this species which imply some pretty significant remiges.

Awwww...(am I wrong in thinking dromaeosaurs in general are absolutely adorable?)

And yes, *very* nice Velociraptor, properly feathery and fuzzy like dromies are supposed to be :3

Haha! I don't like Jurassic Park velociraptors, thier not cute and fuzzy like these guys...

Actually, from what I've read, even though they are called Velociraptors, size-wise, they're based on Deinonychus(i HOPE that's spelled right. Oo). And even though they aren't feathery, they aren't that off in that regard. They just happen to be named Velociraptors instead.

And true. They aren't cute. This one is. ^^ Though I still like them in JP. XD

I absolutely LOVE this picture!! And I just saw it in wiki earlier too. ^^ I've been in a dinosaur mood lately (blame it on JP) and I've been wanting to read up on stuff that I've missed for the past 9 years...I was a HUGE dino geek as a kid, but anime took over my life after I turned 11. I've missed being a dino geek!! D:

Thanks! I always liked Deinonychus better but Velociraptors are pretty cool little birds ;)

I should get around to uploading a cleaned scan, colored version of this actually.
